CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Parenting changes from generation to generation as society, culture and the world around us continue to change, too. It can be hard to keep up with the constant needs and challenges our kids present to us. Whether it’s a temper tantrum in the store, anxiety over a nightmare, depression symptoms that may seem unexplained or explosive anger, we may not always know how to handle the whiplash of emotions our kids experience. Join us for a class to learn why kids behave the way they do, what they are trying to tell us and how we as parents can help. You’ll walk away from this class with insight and practical tools and tips to bring home to your families, plus camaraderie in knowing that you’re not in this alone.
INFO ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Kristina Walsh is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) currently practicing as a Mental Health Specialist in Worthington City elementary schools. Kristina has a degree in Religious Studies and Sociology from Baldwin-Wallace University and a Masters in Counseling Ministries from Methodist Theological School in Ohio. As a clinician, Kristina has experience in partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient settings as well as working with children, adults and families in outpatient counseling offices. She has been facilitating presentations and workshops since 2012 and is excited to bring her wisdom, humor, and expertise to our families here at Peace. She’s passionate about helping children feel seen, heard and validated and does so by joining alongside families in all the various stages we experience.
